History

Maison Dedine bears the name of its original founder Saad Eddine Sinaoui, teacher and son of a Sheikh of the Zitouna Grand Mosque in Tunis, his hometown.

Artist painter and sailor in his spare time, he designed himself the architecture of this house placed on the sea like a boat, and built it stone by stone for seven long years down the well-known village of Sidi Bou Said; facing the bay of Tunis, one of the most beautiful bays of the Mediterranean.

Every detail in the house holds his signature while each room bears the name of a member of his family to whom he was deeply attached.

Forty years later, his daughter-in-law adds an artistic touch of modernity while keeping with the original structure of this exceptional home.
